A Bit About The All-Encompassing State of Georgia

There is so much to be said about the beneficial aspects of Georgia.  One who is fortunate enough to live in the state can vouch for the fact that Georgia provides a little bit of something for everyone.  There are so many reasons to live in Georgia and call this great state home.

Mountains

The Georgia Mountain region is known for clear lakes, roaring rivers, spectacular mountain vistas and friendly people whose charm and hospitality harks back to earlier times. The mountains are infused with a rich heritage of culture and folklore, having been home to an American Indian civilization as well as the site of the first Gold Rush in the United States.

Shoreline

One of the wonderful aspects of Georgia is its illustrious shoreline along the Atlantic Ocean. Georgia's Lower Coastal Plain, an environmental region of the Coastal Plain Province, contains some of the state's most well-known geographic features—the coastal barrier islands and the Okefenokee Swamp. The Atlantic coast of Georgia combines extraordinary beauty with a relaxed, Southern charm and hospitality which is unique along the east coast. From historic Savannah to charming Brunswick, the lifestyle of eastern Georgia never fails to enchant.

Climate

The climate of Georgia is typical of a humid subtropical climate with most of the state having mild winters and hot summers. The Atlantic Ocean on the east coast of Georgia and the hill country in the north impact the state's climate. Also, the Chattahoochee River divides Georgia into separate climatic regions with mountain region to the northwest being cooler than the rest of Georgia, the average temperature for that region in January and July being 39 °F (4 °C) and 78 °F (26 °C) respectively. Winter in Georgia is characterized by mostly mild temperatures and little or no snowfall around the state.

Activities Galore

Georgia has so much to offer its residents in the way of activities.
With endless energy, big city sophistication and warm Southern hospitality, the Atlanta Metro is brimming with museums and learning opportunities throughout the downtown area and beyond.
The Northeast Georgia mountains offer an outdoor retreat. Some popular recreational activities include fishing, hunting, kayaking, tubing, hiking & biking, just to name a few.
From charming towns and authentic antiques to quaint little shops along scenic byways, the Historic Heartland offers the warmth of yesteryear in quintessential Southern style.
Tour plantations and historic farms and relive Georgia’s historic past in the rural southwestern region.
The Georgia Coast stretches approximately 100 miles between the Savannah and St. Marys Rivers. In this region you can wander isolated beaches, tranquil marshes and cobblestone streets. Sample low country delicacies like soft-shelled crabs and Brunswick stew.

There is a little something for everyone who comes to Georgia to live.
